Pretty much a weekly deal that one or theology both call with screwed up computer. All of it just what you decribed. And both swear they didn't do anything. Plus even after doing all of what you said, they'll be calling next week. # Barney Greinke: With hardware routers by Linksys, etc. available for under $20 (and often free, with rebates), I suggest sticking a hardware router theology between her computer and the modem. Hardware routers are (thus far) less likely to get hacked/disabled by malware. In fact, I'm sticking hardware routers on *every* computer here at the small office theology where I work. Our computers have been cross-infecting each other for the last few years…maybe this will stop that. # auda: I do this sort of thing quite often Xandros is now my prefered option it installs well and works ! I have had a few problems with realtec nics on laptops but other than that its fine # Anna: This make be more relevant for the Kid's PC - but uninstall messenger plus (and if necessary reinstall it but being careful NOT to accept sponsors advertising - as this installs a whole load of spyware).
