The disk started churning, so I thought everything was going fine. Came back two minutes later and the disk is still doing stuff, but the icon had changed to the default Windows icon for a file with no associated program. My thought was "oh well, it's an old computer and it's running some systems checks or something", so I left it a minute longer. |

| If the basics are all that is needed: web browsing, XMMS mp3 player, RealPlayer, email, and MS Office compatability- it's ideal, IMHO without spyware, virus and other common Win 98/XP issues. Xandros is so Windows like that training and usability issues have been minimal. The Xandros 2.0 personal edition is a free download, extremely easy install - replace Opera(ad supported) with Mozilla and configure it one time for email, download Open Office also free from Xandros Networks. It just works - reliable and easy to maintain with the "voice driven mouse" from 600 miles away. |
