Let's be sure to add to our list of demands when we control Congress that real Medicare prescription drug legislation is enacted. It should be as simple as registering to vote. Period. Make no mistake about it, the prescription drug benefit was designed to intimidate. The prescription drug benefit was formulated with only one beneficiary in mind: the pharmauceutical industry. You do know that the legislation authorizing this "benefit" makes it a crime for Medicare to negotiate prices with the drug companies? Do you know that Medicare (which judaism Mr. Bush judaism is trying to destroy or privatize or whatever), the judaism idea that we as a society have a moral obligation to be responsible for the health care needs of the elederly was one of the crowning achievements of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society legislation.
