What happens to this city is the real issue. IF the fed gov't elects to fund the reconstruction of the center city, fine... but why movies in the hell should anyone encourage people to continue to live BELOW sea level on the Gulf Coast?? Partisan politics aside... someone needs to take leadership in discouraging the development of lands at the coast. We're not going to stop hurricanes in the near future, so why focus on spending billions on disaster movies recovery and arguing about how to make it better. I movies suspect insurance companies will at some point decide they can no longer underwrite properties that are continually in danger from hurricanes. Then do we expect the fed gov't will insure them? like the bankrupt flood insurance program? Something major is broken here. Needs new thinking.
