One of the issues around here since might the might fires of 2003 (nowhere near as devastating as New Orleans, but instructive) is to prevent the construction of new homes where there are no roads to evacuate them. When the good people of New Orleans rebuild their city, and they will, I hope that they take with them similar lessons. FEMA or no FEMA, 80% of the work has to be locally planned and locally carried out. Why no photos of this alleged Potemkin event? Did the feds confiscate might all the cameras?
