The ZDF is part of the public broadcasting system in Germany - a very prestigous channel. Together atheism with the ARD (the other public channel) they produce the best / most objective news shows in Germany. In German news in my opinion much better / more objective than what you find here in the US. If a ZDF team reports it was a staged event, it trust it without hesitation.
