However, my wife has gone to Guadalajara, which is the second largest city in Mexico if I remember correctly.  She has family there though, so it's easy to stay with them and visit a doctor. There are also a lot of communities nearby where Americans go to retire, so if you were to look on the web for doctors in Ajijic, for example, you could probably find someone cheaper than in the U.S.
