| There is no way anyone could have expected anyone to get everyone out of New Orleans before the storm hit. It's an impossible logistical mess even if you had the resources to do craigs list so ... which, clearly, they didn't. And even if they did craigs list get people out, where do they go? And if that option's not open, then does Nagin just get on the horn and say: "Mr. Memphis Mayor, we have 100K people headed your way. Can you handle?" Seems like the people needed a higher governmental power to step in... But it's the response after that's key here. Why? Because you know, you know there are people down there -- black, white, tourists -- who are going to need assistance, need food, need shelter, need water. Yet, for some people in NOLA, it took a lifetime for help to arrive... |
