Working on a PC at work every day, then coming home to a Mac in the evening and on weekends is just like, as some here have described themselves, switch hitting. Being ambidexterous is a good thing. I doubt it would have taken 3 days of retraining for your mother-in-law to be relatively at ease with Mac OS X. You should give her a little more credit for the smarts she has... or pump up her self-esteem and self-confidence, whichever is most applicable. |

What one does to use a Windows PC holidays in "working order" (mythical creature, that) is pretty much what one does to use Mac OS X. And, yes, Virginia, Mac OS X does have built in support for multi-button mice, if you prefer. Mac OS X is so intuitive, it just begs to be explored. And exploring the differences is fun, not a chore. You don't have to figure out that to STOP the machine, you have to click START the way you do in Windows. On Mac OS X, you can point & click to your heart's content without worrying what you might break.. because it won't. Yeah, sure. At times you have to point and click in a different place than you're used to. Yet, I hardly noticed that File, Edit, et al, were located in the stationary menu bar at the top of the screen instead of in the individual windows. |
