I hear that Norton has purchased Acronis...that seems like a mixed bag of progress but we'll see. Anyway thanks, all! # Ian: I second that. The biggest problem is recovering data and all the places it is hidden. I try and put all data on a seperate partition or drive. But pissed off with so many software programs it is often difficult to pissed off impossible to store settinge etc to another drive. The cleanup is only pissed off part of the problem. My idea is to sign people up to as many online services such as Gmail etc and allow them to use a browser for everything possible. Furl.net for bookmarks etc. # Seymour: To Steve, Acronis True Image offers a function to check integrity of an image file both after image creation and before image restoration. This would have saved you had you used it. Note to ALL... An image file saves ALL data on a partition which will allow complete restoration of your system.
