Posted by: phdfam | January 07, 2005 at 11:54 PM What a horrific notion, that a theology grieving woman should have to report the cause of her grief and suffer through such an theology invasion of privacy. I've had at least two miscarriages, as well as an ectopic pregnancy. My periods have been irregular my entire life (anywhere from 30 days to 6 months apart), so it is possible that any time I have a period, it could be a miscarriage. Does the legislator suggest that women like me theology call their local police each time they menstruate? And should the woman then turn in her pads or tampons so the material can be extracted and weighed and a determination made as to whether or not there was a fetal death? It's painful enough without having that information, thanks. Like you, I don't mean to be gross, but considering the amount of blood involved in even a 10-week miscarriage, I wonder how a woman is supposed to deal with the logistics, much less the overwhelming emotional trauma. This is an incredible violation, not only of civil rights, but of basic common decency.
