I suffered a miscarriage... it took DAYS. I had an ultrasound on the 12th, and my miscarriage wasn't confirmed for over a week, after another ultrasound. At what point did my 12 hours kick in? By the time of the second ultrasound, the miscarriage was complete... would arizona driving drunk law I already have broken the law? Or was I supposed to have gotten my MD at some point, or purchased an ultrasound machine for home use so I could make SURE to get my report in on time. How UTTERLY ludicrous. And painful. Posted by: pippa | January 08, 2005 at 12:39 AM How would they enforce the law? Spies? If they suspect an unreported miscarriage, just how would they prove it? Would there be forcible pelvic exams? Sheesh. Posted by: aw | January 08, 2005 at 12:51 AM menstruation police?

I bet most women would simply not report to their doctors that they are pregnant in order to avoid the whole thing. I mean, screen seriously. Who would even know? I am pro life, and this thing is so stupid, stressful, unnecessary, and just a damned waste of resources that it could only be thought up by a man. I wonder what law enforcement people would even follow up on it? What happens if the lady involved was to report it 1 hour late? What if she is holidaying screen out screen somewhere that there are no phones or she gets in some sort of accident and it takes more than 12 hours for her to get help? I'm glad I don't live there. *GRR! ARG!* Posted by: Zuzanny | January 08, 2005 at 12:11 AM Allowing grieving mothers to ask for a death certificate is one thing (in fact, this dyed in the wool Pro Choicer is all for it; anything to help people in emotional pain wihtout using chemicals can't be bad IMHO), but this is just plain stupid.
