- as mentioned, run both AdAware and Spybot, in safe mode, one right after the other. They find different things, and will often clean up after each other. By doing it in safe mode, you moviedatabase avoid the likelihood that one of the rogue processes will be in use, necessitating another reboot & rescan to let the programs remove them. moviedatabase If it's a computer I'm likely to be responsible for long term, (or a paying client) I also find it well worth the effort to add a new partition to the drive, and move the default storage location for data moviedatabase files (email, MyDocuments etc) to the new partition. Then I do a backup to CD (if possible) of all data. Lastly, like Seymour, I then use a DOS-based imaging program (I use Ghost, but Image for DOS - http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ is excellent and inexpensive, though a little geeky to get used to) to write an image of the newly cleaned drive to the new partition.
