As for my time vs buying a new machine - yes, given my regular consulting rates, it would've been cheaper to buy a used Mac. But this wasn't a client, it was my *mother.* Plus a new(ish) Mac would've required considerable OS X tutoring, and there are a bunch of home/work compatibility requirements. And - maybe this is strange - but I enjoyed doing this for my mother-in-law, and I learned a whole lot in the process. |

Although, a little afraid to do it. Have paid a small fortune to have my computer debugged - over and over. It's time again. I run ad-aware every few days and Norton a couple of times a week. Not doing it.
