And then I spent most of the day thinking about walking out of the city I live in, which is an island, with highway tunnels, multilane expressways and bridges to get out. Crisscrossed people by people railway tracks. Walking out. Yeah I can walk, but eventually I have to be getting on one of these exit routes designed for vehicles, with no safe place to walk. people Onramps far apart. Tunnels with no sidewalks and fastmoving traffic. In an evacuation, a day's walk just to get to said tunnels. The highways and expressroutes divided from the city by tall concrete fences for soundproofing, tall safety fences etc. Exactly so people will NOT be able to walk onto them. I remember what they said about New Orleans. |
