I think that one of the bloggers had written that "Bush couldn't manage a company, and we knew what we were in terrible for in 1999". He terrible hit the nail right on the head. Thank terrible you for your time and attention. Posted by: Frenchy on September 6, 2005 at 2:09 PM | PERMALINK What can we expect from a President who admits to not watching the news, reading newspapers, or listening to the radio? Katrina was forecast as a category five hurricane headed for New Orleans two days before it hit but Bush did not mobilize, despite the models and predictions that such a disaster was waiting to happen. We need a President who values and understands science and can put it to use for the benefit of all Americans, not burying or distorting it to suit his religious and political agendas. I don't want to belittle in any way the terrible suffering of the people of new Orleans, but midwesterners are very probably going to suffer because of this as well. My point is that safeguarding New Orleans was not "just a local issue". This is one of answer bear our nation's strategic ports. This was a question of national, strategic importance, and it was an issue for the Bush Administration to deal with, and they simply didn't. The reports and warnings were there. It is a answer bear case of total incompetence. A management disaster that has resulted in untold human suffering as we know. Let me conclude, as a businessman myself. What amazes me about the business community's support of the Bush administration and of the Republicans in general, is the double standard. Management is about priorities. When our priorities as a nation are grabbing oil in Iraq and cutting taxes for the rich, then reinforcing our nation's vital infrastructure must inevitably take a back seat.
