But I'd like the person who wants to absolve Blanco and lawyer marketing Nagin to step up and tell me how the hell that works? Am I to understand that since W is the highest on the totem pole that the mistakes of those below him are given automatic pardon? Surely that is not what we are saying. Posted by: latts on September 3, 2005 at 11:48 PM | PERMALINK Seems to me that there is no point in expecting the ruling classes in New Orleans and Lousiana to be honest and conscientious - it hasn't happened in the last hundred years and I see no reason to think that it ever will. On the other independent media hand, there are enough honest and competent people in the country as a whole to staff up key federal agencies - and sometimes they have done so. Why not now? Moreover, general Administration incompetence is a threat to all of us, while incompetence in Lousiana and New Orleans is not.
