I would add that by insensitive I mean both the human levels and the political levels, because this was quite possibly the worst political blunder he could have made, especially given the already bad imagery from his eating cake and strumming while American civilians died. |

Remember, the thrust of this post is how George W Bush is prostituting the worst disaster of any kind to hit America in at least a century solely for the benefit of imagery and the appearance of competence and leadership instead of the reality. That this is so much conspiracy duck the focus of this WH that it appears to be willing to stage manage this disaster and present false images of comfort and rescue work well in hand when the reality is anything but. The very idea that there would be stage managed food relief stations for AMERICAN CITIZENS available only for the time the visit was happening is something even I would not have believed until now. I don't like Bush, I know that he is far less competent than his admirers like to claim, and I am well aware of his penchant for media management as reality. |
