The ACLU notes this discriminatory treatment, and says ONLY that the same law that applies to opposite sex relationships apply to same sex relationships. To use the same O'Reilly demagoguery, it seems the state of Kansas, in O'Reilly's phrasing, has "PASSED A LAW which states that the molestation of 14-year-old girls is not a crime human rights because the child has a constitutional right to engage in sex human rights with adults." Odd that O'Reilly would wish human rights to "protect" boys, but not girls, from molestation by "adults". - tex / Wednesday November 30, 2005 07:04:36 AM EST - Reply to this comment / Flag this comment re: The Root Issue by tex - Wednesday November 30, 2005 07:04:36 AM EST ---------------------- According to the article, both boys were in a home for the developmentally disabled and the older boy who was convicted was deemed to have an ("intellectual range between "borderline intellectual functioning" and "mild mental retardation.")
