(none / 0) I think it is Medicare Suuplement (Medigap) plans H, I and J that have drug coverage- personal appearances my company really doesn't mess with those plans. That coverage is supposedly not as good as this new plan. You are looking at a $250 deductible, a 50% copay and a $1250 limit per year. So it is close to being the same at the lower case, pretty much the same at middle coverage (both pay nothing from about $2500 to $5100, but the new plan is better for over $5100. |

| Seniors would do better with negotiated drug plans, or discount drug cards. This really sucks. Af far as catastrophic coverage, this is okay, if you know you are gong pissed about to need serious money for medicine. If you need $10,000 a year in drugs, you would pay $3984 plus 5%, or $4285, pissed about or over 42%. This will drop as your drug costs go up. For $20,000 in drugs, you will pay $4785, or just under 24%. Basically pissed about this drug plan is only good if you need massive amounts of drugs. As people realize this, they will not opt in, and the government's cost per person will rise, and rates and copays will increase. I've actually known seniors who have to go into nursing homes just to be able to get their meds. We'll still see that happening. |
