I downloaded the AVG Free .exe to the desktop. Then I double-clicked it to install. The disk started churning, so I thought everything was going fine. Came back two minutes later and the disk is still doing stuff, but the icon had changed to the default Windows icon for a file with no associated program. My thought was "oh well, it's an old computer and it's running some systems checks or something", so I left it a minute longer. Next, I came back and it was still churning. I began to get suspicious, so thought I'd look and see what was happening on the computer. |

| I have had excellent results supporting my Dad this way - he is running bare on a cable modem - I can't speak to the issues in rapeporn a dial-up environment, but works well here.
