For all I know the price of a bus secular ticket IS far beyond the reach of some of the population. And if so, it is unbelievably stupid of the local authorities to not realise this. Perhaps there really was no-where in hundreds of miles that was any safer than where they were living. People without access to radio or TV, or who are so used to the media exaggerating that they didn't believe it would be so bad. |

The best one can hope for is a government with sufficient politicians with a diverse range of personal agendas that they cancel out each other's worst excesses. As a South African, I've never considered either of our government regimes to have my interests at heart. Sure, I'm a bit of a cynic. |
