That POA has now been passed over to me. Dad was never home much and was dutch (he had a good temper on him although he never thigh highs hurt us kids physically). I never really got on with him much thigh highs as I was always the one in the family who did every thing wrong. As mum got worse we needed to get her assesed before the hospital would look at meals on wheels or home help. My mother being a retired nurse was very difficult to even persuade thigh highs to let these people come into her house little alone to get an appointment at the hospital. In her day and time people like her were sent to a mental institute and according to her that was where I was trying to send her. The hospital didn't help as I told them to send the appointment to my address and instead they sent it to her.
