Am I right in thinking most Americans support the right to choose, and will really not tolerate this shit? 18 Alex Feb 23rd, 2006 at 2:53 am I live just a bit to the west in Montana and I find myself sick to my stomache about this ban on abortion in South Dakota. I can totally see Montana being next to pass such a ban. I’m finding myself envisioning a future in which I am forced to have a child every year until I either die, or am at the end of my childbearing years. I’m seeing a future in which in order to get birth control pills(which will only be offered to married couples) I will have to have my husband present at the time of my doctor’s appointment to sign a waiver giving me permission to have the pills.

How does something so nakedly misogynistic even make it to the legislator? I mean, it says that the proccess of birth is more important the the life of either participant. How the hell does that make sense? 15 PseudoAdrienne Feb 23rd, 2006 at 1:30 am South Dakota = the Gilead. Talk about a legislative orgy of misogyny. Will our Judiciary follow…? 16 Neil the Ethical Werewolf Feb 23rd, 2006 at 1:48 am Actually, there is an exception for the life of the mother. Unfortunately, this is the only exception: “The bill provides for an exception to save the life of the mother. An amendment that would have provided for an exception for rape and incest failed, 21-14.”
