Seniors would do better jeremy brothers with negotiated drug plans, or discount drug cards. This really sucks. Af far as catastrophic coverage, this is okay, if you know you are gong to need serious money for medicine. If you need $10,000 a year in drugs, you would pay $3984 plus 5%, or $4285, or jeremy brothers over 42%. This will drop as your drug costs go up. For $20,000 in drugs, you will pay $4785, or just under 24%. Basically this drug plan is only good if you need massive amounts of drugs. As people realize this, jeremy brothers they will not opt in, and the government's cost per person will rise, and rates and copays will increase. Signature Impaired. by gttim on Tue Oct 04, 2005 at 08:25:53 AM PDT What is going unsaid is that for many, if not most (none / 0) seniors having to pay close to $5000/yr in drug costs in catastrophic cases is totally impossible. I've actually known seniors who have to go into nursing homes just to be able to get their meds.
