I get the question still 3 years after my divorce of why mommy and daddy don't live wage and hour together and I never put him down even if wage and hour he was a cheating, lieing, manipulative man, (I just bash him on forums like this not in front of my children) I just tell them that mommy and daddy would fight when we lived together and now that we don't we get along and they seem wage and hour to like that. As far as your boy calling step mom, mom, he knows who his real mom is. I know it hurts your feelings but if the child wants to call her mom then you can't get angry or upset about it or the child is even more uncomfortable in his situation.
