You know how some women stay with their husbands despite abuse because they think they can't do anything about it? A kid can't do anything about it. From personal experience (not nearly as bad as what he's been through) I know that no matter what they do, or allow to happen to you- there is always a string attached eggers that goes right down to the center of who you are, because they-in their own screwed up way- are a part of who eggers you eggers are today. He does need to get away from her. She's still messing with him even he acts like it doesn't bother him. If you love him enough you'll help- but don't think for a minute you can love it all away.
