Those cops and firefighters and EMT's, and doctors and nurses were all doing their jobs and wondering where the hell the feds were so they could try to check on their own homes and families! The first responders were directly affected, but they kept harassment working anyway. I saw a police big-wig, I think it might have been the chief, break down. Pointing toward the gulf behind him, he said "I need a crusise ship out here so I can get my people a bed and a shower! They need some rest!" This was Thursday, I believe, or possibly Friday. He wanted to know then where were the feds? Where was the guard? Where was his help? I am an ER nurse, and I made a long post on another thread about the two hours I was unaware of my families where-abouts after the Andover Tornado that hit McConnell AFB and Andover and Wichita, Kansas on April 26, 1991. |
