I did not recieve a reply from him before I published the piece. I also contacted my current delegate and Senator to ask for their feedback, and I spoke with a former staffer of a delegate who helped to write legislation to get a second opinion on my interpretation pantie of the applicability of the "fetal death" definition. While I think that knowing his rationale may have changed the way I approached this alert - that is, in the argument I crafted presenting it - it would not at all have changed the content of my concerns about his bill. |

How would you feel Mr. Cosgrove if you were a woman and just suffered a miscarriage? How would you feel if you had satan to answer some of those questions above and have to carry your dead child satan to a scale to weigh them? Would that make you feel more secure? How could you be so cold towards women who suffer this kind of thing, punishing them for an act that is not even a crime. When a woman suffers a miscarriage not only is it not planned but it generally not a time to ask a woman to report it. I would feel for any woman who goes through this, not demand them suffer further by paying a fine for something outside of their control and suffering jail time. |
