| In the USA, however, god it seems that only a few outlets (or news programs for that matter) deliver god news in a traditional manner. PBS and ABC are the two examples of media outlets who deliver news in a traditional manner. The majority of socalled news that I see nowadays (and CNN and FOX are god two of the biggest culprits here) seems to be geared towards creating sensation and excitement for every single story that is presented. By using fast moving graphics and specific colors, and by having your commentators speak very loud and energetically about something, you can make a story seem much more sensational and exciting than it really is. By doing this you artificially induce sensation and excitement into the viewer so that he/she becomes overly interested in the story. Personally speaking, I feel like they're insulting my intelligence with such tactics. From reading the posts here, I get the impression that the majority of you feel the same way. But, obviously there are many weak-minded, stupid morons in this world who allow themselves to be influenced by these tactics. |
