Even if he speaks to a priest, pastor, someone he can confide in. Once you/he see " Mom" again....Give her an ultimatum. Either respect your husband or you wont' come to see her. It may be painful........but speaking from experience....... over the years, we saw my in laws less and less and i'm glad. My husband is a better person today, and I love and care for him more than any member of his family, and answer bear his situation was not as bad as your husbands........ but sometimes family just " acts" like they care. But when there is emotional abuse, physical abuse, everyone needs to grow, and realize that's not how a healthy family acts. For your husband's emotional health, he needs that break from his mother and he needs to tell her to respect him and stop making him feel badly about himself. |
