Mark Roche tampa is pro-life, but his op-ed made the pro-life case for John Kerry--which isn't, I think, great evidence of a pro-life tilt to the Times op-ed page. The Times has never had a regular columnist who is pro-life. When it runs op-eds that are actually about abortion, they are usually pro-choice. Consider its line-up on the anniversary of Roe this year. William Saletan had an essay on how pro-choicers could win by changing their message, and William Baude had an essay on the allegedly disastrous consequences of overturning Roe. |

The book does peer education have quite peer education a bit to say about the Democrats, and it's tough on them. But the book is about more than that, and the title isn't meant as a pejorative term for the Democrats. I explain, mostly in the peer education introduction, what I mean and don't mean by the phrase. I'm not saying this to complain about Franke-Ruta. It was nice of her to mention the book, and her assumption was an easy one to make, partly because the Amazon page on the book is a bit misleading.
