The point of course being that we must get tough on child molesters. Child molestation should be a 1 strike dobson and your gone for 20 years mandatory punishment. Are you against putting child molesters away for a minimum of 20 or more years? I dobson am in favor of thoughtful response dobson and not knee-jerk response. Placing a mandatory 20 years for a first offense wouldn't prevent a crime (as you note) but it might create an incentive for a molester to eliminate the only witness to his/her crime.
