Having my mother is fucking gone through back-to-back hurricanes last year (Frances and Jeanne, three weeks apart, which my mother is fucking made landfall in almost exactly the same place, just 15 miles north of my home), I can tell you first hand that mental health services are a must. I made an appointment to see a mental health professional and had to cancel it when I had to leave town when my mother-in-law almost died, and after that I just decided the hell with seeing a shrink. I’m scared of planning anything, making any sort of reservation, for fear that it will bring another hurricane or the Grim Reaper.
