You’ve just released an album on global clubbing brand Renaissance. How did that album come about? I had previously done a remix on the Renaissance label and had a relationship with the label and they surprised me by approaching me with this new concept to bring two known DJs from different continents together on one compilation to showcase their sound. I was flattered because I have always held Renaissance in such high esteem and I enjoy having a great relationship with the label. |

| Personally I think it's one of the dullest moments compared to how it was four or five years ago. San Francisco was ready to wear the place that most DJ's and producers were looking at and I feel like we really didn’t take it to the ready to wear next level, which is sad. I'm proud to be representing San Francisco and my latest CD is a reflection of my influences here. I think one of the set backs in SF ready to wear is that everyone tends to play alike here. Everyone feels like they have to play soulful deep house and I don't know if they are really doing it from their heart or just to be mainstream. It's the safe route to take, I guess. I think one of the main factors that helped me grow as a DJ was that I play from the heart and I play what I like, not what the current DJ's are playing in the area. There is so much talent here in SF and we really had a chance four years ago or so to take SF to another level ultimately it didn't happen. |
