He meant to ask somebody, but whenever he had the opportunity, he passed it up. The day dragged on. Zephyr stared at the clock until it came into focus and was almost shocked to see it was barely past one. With all the work to be done, it was unlikely pamela that he'd get visitors for another several hours. How much more of this pamela could he stand? How many more days would he be required to stay here? He could just as easily lie around at home with Reg pamela to take care of him. Okay, the nasty tubes would pose a problem, and Reg wasn't the nurturing type. But he'd be a whole lot less lonely at home. And why was it even bothering him this much? If there was one thing Zephyr found familiar, it was isolation. This should be a piece of cake. There was a phone. He could reach it if he stretched a bit. He could call the office and see how things were going. Didn't matter who he talked to; any old friendly voice would do.
